It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the closure of the Red Lion Pub. The loss of the Beehive Pub eight years ago, and the fact that the Red Lion was failing prompted me to save the last pub in the village.
I always believed the existence of a pub is essential in maintaining the social life of a village. We set out to provide a friendly atmosphere, good service with good food and catering for all ages.
Along with many others we have kept the pub going throughout the past seven years and I would like to thank them for their hard work. The impact of COVID along with the sharp increase in costs and wages has made it impossible to keep the pub open.
I would like to thank you all for all your support during the past seven years. I will miss the pub as I imagine you will. I hope someone will take over this historical pub and maintain the business for us all to enjoy.
